We hope the fall months have been treating you all well. We're looking forward to Halloween & can't wait to see all of the trick-or-treaters this year; as you can see we're all ready. =)

With Hurricane Sandy on her way, everyone be safe these next few days.

That's my friend!

This afternoon when I went to visit Capital's website in order to see what the WOD (a.k.a "Workout Of the Day") was, I noticed something quite awesome....my friend & workout buddy made their website!!!! They posted a photo of Kateri doing T2B (Toes 2 Bar) at Tuesday night's class. Go check it out: Kateri doing her thang!  You can find her sporting her bright pink workout tee under "Wednesday 10/24/12 WODs (Loudoun)." I am so excited about this - maybe even a little more than she is!!

We've come a long way girlie & I wouldn't change a thing...=)

A Sweet Treat

While I was getting caught up on reading the blogs that I follow, I came across one of my favorite treats on 33 Shades of Green's website. Not only does she have some great receipes that I have tried in the past, but she also posted the receipe for Puppy Chow. Now this stuff is addicting & I eat it by the handfulls; unfortunately, I also eat & eat until I make myself sick. A few years ago one of my neighbor's made a tin full of puppy chow & brought it over to our house over the holidays. Dan wasn't home when he brought it over so I was able to put a huge dent in it before he even got home. Due to my addiction & lack of will power, I never make this stuff or keep it in our house. If I did I would be 100 lbs. heavier. For those of you that have never had it, you need to make it at least once just to know what all the fuss is about.

You can't tell me your mouth isn't watering...

Happy snacking!

Crossfit

Now that I have a couple weeks under my belt as a member of a CrossFit gym, I thought it would be time to post a review of my experiences, to date. If we’re Facebook friends or talk on a daily basis, you already know that I’m loving it. Alright, obsessed is the more accurate word to use here. Initially I was a little worried about the cost because I’ve never had to pay a monthly gym fee that was this high. It’s a little nerve racking especially if you aren’t sure if you’re really going to love it or really going to hate it. Well I took a leap of faith & my worries have now subsided. I no longer worry about the money; yes, I had to readjust my monthly spending in order to incorporate this into my lifestyle but so far I’m fine with that. Sometimes you have to make sacrifices for something you really want. My first week consisted of 3 classes & after every workout I told myself, “OK, that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” That was until I showed up the next day & then repeated, “OK, that was the hardest thing I’ve ever done.” I definitely don’t leave the gym feeling defeated; I have my days where I’m frustrated that I took more breaks than usual, but I always leave very proud of what I did & what I've accomplished & I can’t wait to tell someone about it. Dan & my parents are usually the first ones I talk to. I’m sure the people that are closest to me are already getting sick of hearing me go on & on about my workouts, but I haven’t been this excited about something since I made the high school varsity basketball team as a freshman! For the record  everyone, I’m sorry for driving you nuts! I won't go into detail about the workouts that I’ve done, but I do want to say that my favorite one, so far, is the sledge hammer & monster truck tire. I’m sure you can imagine the exercise & yes, it was as much fun as it sounds. =)

Now for a few of my favorite Crossfit videos:

A Little Motivation...

I've recently decided that in addition to the "Shoe of the Month" posts I'm going to also do a motivational quote, saying or photo. Since I've started Crossfit I've seen & read some pretty amazing things; they've helped me stay motivated & in turn I'd like to share & possibly motivate you all. You're welcome... =)

Depending on how this goes on a monthly basis, I might end of posting one every couple of weeks. Lets try it out & see. Here we go:

Lisa's Birthday

On September 28th, Sandra Lue & I threw a birthday dinner for Lisa at Uncle Julio's. We had great food, great drinks & great company. We even surprised Lisa with some Hoops & YoYo birthday cupcakes. We loved how they turned out...

They were made by a family friend who, as you can tell, is so talented.

Happy Birthday, Li! We hope you enjoyed your night! We love you...

Shoe of the Month ~ October

I am so behind on this post - sorry guys! It's been crazy this month, so far. Trying to find the time to keep the blog up to date has been challenging, but I promise to be better. =)

Now on to the shoes! Last month I had a shoe all picked out until I bought a pair for my New York trip. I'm in love with them & thought I would share....

Sueded X-Front Ankle Boot by Charlotte Russe. I bought the same color that's featured here, Cognac, they also come in black. They're suede & extremely comfortable. I wore them to Dan's homecoming game on Saturday & with all the walking & standing that I did my feet didn't hurt once. Usually by the end the bottoms of my feet are burning, but not with these! The 2 1/2 inch chunky heel is also easy to walk in; they give you just a little height. I'm looking forward to trying them out with my skinny jeans. They also fall just under $30 & for boots that ain't bad.

Happy shopping!!!
