Week 2 of 30 Day Shred

Its that time again to give you an update on my workout results. OK, so I have been doing Level 2 for a little over a week now & it is pretty difficult. The idea is to continue the workout until it starts to become comfortable/easy, well...to repeat my comment to my neighbor Laura, "it ain't getting any easier". Sure there are parts of the exercises that are easier now than a week ago but most of it is not. There are a lot of plyometric moves which remind me of the P90X DVDs. Now keep in mind that I am working out 5 days a week & by the 5th day, I am exhausted. I so look forward to my 2 days off. My idea to incorporate the P90X ab DVD in my workout with Jillian only lasted one day & thats because Jillian's ab routine is working just fine. I am still concerned about Level 3 but I'm trying to push that out of my mind until I have to move on. Sometimes I feel like I'm completely out of shape but when I think about it, I wouldn't be able to do these workouts a few weeks ago so I am better than I use to be. Dan even did Level 2 with me last weekend. Before we started I explained to him that this workout is a woman's workout, not a man's. You work on the inside of your thighs, butt, etc. As we were working our way through the DVD I even heard him say some groans & he was definitely sweating so that made me feel better because he is in great shape & if its making him work then I know its not that easy. Here are my results so far:

~ I am up to 15 push ups now.

~ I have not lost any more weight but I have not gained either; I have been watching what I eat but I still have my weaknesses...chocolate!

~ My clothes are not as tight & some are even baggy.

I took some result photos also so I'm going to share those with you: (I'm seeing more definition in my back)

(My biceps are more defined but I've always had slightly manly arms so I know they can improve).

(My silhouette is slimmer than before - tummy not sticking out as much & butt is tighter). I did take some ab shots but those are being kept private & for my eyes only. Happy working out!

You Look Beautiful, Darling

Like I said in my "Groomers On The Go" post, I am giving you an update on Lexi's haircut with her new groomer, John. All of this commentary was provided by Dan so I am relaying it all to you.
Last Monday Lexi had her first hair appointment with John. Dan was home with her because I had to work. John arrived at the house at 10:00 a.m. & met Lexi; after a little talk about the type of cut & how her past demeanor with groomers has been, John took Lexi out to his van to start the process. An hour and 15 minutes later John brought her back inside & she got so excited to be done that she started doing zoomies around the living room/dining room. While Lexi was entertaining John Dan went upstairs to get a check for payment & when he came back downstairs John was holding her. :o) This made me very happy to hear. I think we found our groomer! The positives to no longer going to Canine Carousel & switching to Diva Dogs are: (1) Lexi doesn't pee & shake when John takes her; (2) she is not kept in a crate for most of the day; (3) she is finished in an hour or so as opposed to 6 hours; (4) Diva Dogs comes to our front door so while Lexi is getting her hair done I can be doing things around the house; & last but not least, (5) Diva Dogs is cheaper!

Here are Miss Priss' before & after shots:

I really like her to have longer hair & look all furry but she had a few mats on her legs this visit so we had to cut her shorter than usual. She still looks cute though. :D

My little stink giving me kisses.

I'm The Winner!

Last night Dan & I stayed in & got pizza for dinner. While we were trying to find something on TV to watch I brought up the idea of playing Uno. Surprisingly Dan agreed to play which he usually hates to play games but I think he was just as bored as I was so he agreed. Since he is competative, he said he would only play if we made a bet so we shook on it & played the best out of 5 games. We were tied 2 to 2 & the last game was probably the longest game in Uno history. Now my brother & I have had extremely long games in the past when we've played Uno but this one was never ending. Finally, I went out while Dan had a huge stack of cards in his hands. I WON! Dan of course was a sore loser & started accusing me of cheating as I was celebrating my victory on the floor. So guess what I won? A weekend full of massages. Today he has to give me a 10 minute foot rub; Sunday is a back rub for 15 minutes & Monday is a neck rub for 5 minutes. I am so excited! As I have said in the past, Dan is not a big rubbing fan & sometimes I have to beg him to rub my feet & he still won't do it. This is a big time disappointment to me because I grew up with my Dad always offering to rub my feet so having Dan hate doing it really stinks. I'm hoping he will warm up to the idea during our marriage but its already been 4 years & nothing has changed so I'm not that optimistic.

Now its time for a snow update. The snow started falling around 12:00 yesterday afternoon & honestly has not stopped. Dan went out to help some neighbors shovel last night around 10:00 p.m. & he didn't come back in until 12:30 p.m. The only reason he came in was because the power went out. We were out of power for about 4 hours & it finally came back on; thank goodness - I was starting to get worried. This morning we woke up to a lot of snow, here is a photo I took from our front door: Everyone had better stay in this weekend!
